Conrad Bora Bora Nui Resort Review
French Polynesia
Conrad Bora Bora Nui is one of the most spectacular resorts in French Polynesia and definitely one of our favorites luxury resorts in Bora Bora. With its vast lagoon views, long stretches of beach, and luxurious villas, it perfectly captures what most people dream of when they imagine Bora Bora. The resort counts over 115 villas, both overwater and on land, and is currently undergoing a full renovation to upgrade many of its overwater villas with private pools, refreshed interiors, and various improvements across the property.
We visited the resort recently to see how it compares to other leading properties on the island and whether it really deserves its reputation as one of the most beautiful resorts in French Polynesia.

Transfers & Arrival
Let’s start this review of Conrad Bora Bora Nui with the transfers and arrival.
Reaching Conrad Bora Bora Nui is part of the adventure. After a 50-minute domestic flight from Tahiti to Bora Bora, you arrive at what is arguably the most beautiful airport in the world. A tiny terminal built on its own island, surrounded by stunning turquoise waters.
From there, the resort’s private boat takes you on a 30-minute ride across the lagoon. The moment you arrive at the Conrad jetty, you’re greeted with the warm sound of Polynesian music and bright smiles. The welcome is lively but genuine, with flower necklaces, cold towels, and a refreshing drink waiting for you.
We were quickly introduced to the frontoffice manager and some guests experience managers, who escorted us by buggy to our villa while giving us a small tour of the island along the way.

Our Deluxe Overwater Villa (N°318)
We stayed in villa number 318, one of the resort’s Deluxe Overwater Villas, and we absolutely loved it. The villa is modern, spacious, and beautifully designed, with pretty high ceilings, bright interiors, and panoramic windows overlooking the lagoon.
What stood out most was the view, a never-ending stretch of blue, with a patch of coral reef right in front of our deck. It was mesmerizing to wake up every morning and see this stunning view right in front of our bed.
The villa doesn’t have a private pool, but the terrace is large and comes with direct lagoon access for swimming or snorkeling.
For Bora Bora standards, where many resorts still have villas that look quite dated (cf our review of St Regis Bora Bora), this one felt fresh and contemporary. It’s a perfect mix of luxury and comfort.

The resort’s beauty
This is where Conrad Bora Bora Nui truly shines and most likely the highlight of this review.
The beauty of the resort is extraordinary. It’s easily one of the most visually stunning properties we’ve ever visited and could rank among the best beach resorts in the world if it was a bit more exclusive. The shades of blue in the lagoon are surreal, shifting from light turquoise to deep sapphire depending on the time of day.
The area around the main pool is absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by palm trees and a long stretch of powdery beach. The beach itself is wide and soft, and it’s one of the few resorts in Bora Bora where you can enjoy a proper beach day.
You don’t see Mount Otemanu directly from the resort, that’s one of the few downsides, but if you hike up to the viewpoint near the spa, you’ll get one of the most spectacular views in the entire island.
In terms of pure scenery, this resort might just be our favorite in all of Bora Bora.

Service: nothing to write home about
Let’s continue our review of Conrad Bora Bora Nui with the service.
Service at Conrad Bora Bora Nui was generally good, but not exceptional. Compared to what we’re used to in the Maldives, it definitely felt slower and less consistent.
At times, the restaurant service could be forgetful, dishes arriving late, missing items, or orders that needed to be repeated. Poolside service was also inconsistent; sometimes there was no one around for long stretches, and you’d have to go to the bar yourself.
That said, everyone we interacted with was very friendly and polite, and when things worked well, it felt genuinely warm. It’s just that in Bora Bora overall, the service culture tends to be more relaxed and that’s something to keep in mind if you’re coming from destinations known for ultra-attentive hospitality. Compared to the best resorts in the Maldives, it’s really day and night when it comes to service quality.

The dining outlets
Breakfast at Conrad Bora Bora Nui is one of the best on the island. The buffet is large and varied, offering everything from tropical fruits and pastries to hot dishes, made-to-order eggs, and fresh juices. It’s definitely better than what we had at St. Regis, and offers more variety than Four Seasons Bora Bora though we’d say the ingredient quality is still slightly higher at the Four Seasons.
Lunch and dinner at the resort’s restaurants were good, but not outstanding. We tried several dining outlets, and while the atmosphere and service were nice, the food wasn’t particularly memorable. It’s enjoyable, but don’t expect fine dining.

The spa with the most incredible views
The Hina Spa at Conrad Bora Bora Nui is truly one of the highlights of the resort and we of course had to talk about it in this in-depth review. It’s perched high up on the hill overlooking the lagoon, and the views are absolutely jaw-dropping. It’s worth the visit just for that.
We booked a 60-minute massage, and it was one of the most relaxing spa experiences we’ve had in French Polynesia. The therapists are very professional, the ambiance is peaceful, and after your treatment, you can sit outside and enjoy the panoramic view. It’s honestly one of those “wow” moments you’ll never forget.

The gym
The gym at Conrad Bora Bora is modern and functional, equipped with brand-new Technogym machines. While the equipment is great, the space itself is not particularly inspiring. It’s a bit small and enclosed, without any views of the lagoon, which makes it feel a little dull.
Still, if you like working out, you’ll find everything you need for a solid session: treadmills, weights, and a few strength machines.

Snorkeling: decent… for Bora Bora!
Snorkeling directly from the villa was surprisingly good for Bora Bora. There’s a small patch of coral near the overwater villas where we saw quite a few fish, including some parrotfish and beautiful corals. It’s definitely better than at many other resorts in French Polynesia, but it doesn’t compare to the rich coral reefs of the Maldives.
We also joined a snorkeling excursion organized by the resort to swim with blacktip sharks and stingrays. It was a fun experience but also quite touristy, with many boats and groups in the same area. The highlight was seeing a large group of eagle rays, which was absolutely beautiful.
The coral garden we visited was very colorful, but the fish life overall was underwhelming.
When it comes to snorkeling, our review of Conrad Bora Bora Nui is overall quite average, but decent when compared to other properties in Bora Bora.

The Main Pool
The main pool area at Conrad Bora Bora is one of the most photogenic spots on the island. Surrounded by tall palms, soft sand, and the lagoon’s stunning shades of blue, it’s everything you imagine when you think of a tropical paradise.
We loved spending time here. It’s calm, beautiful, and the perfect place to enjoy a drink and just relax. The only downside is that poolside service can be slow, so you sometimes have to get up to order yourself.

Value for money
When it comes to value for money, it’s hard to justify the high price tag but that’s true for almost every resort in Bora Bora. The scenery is breathtaking, but once you factor in the service and food quality, the value doesn’t quite match the cost.
That being said, the views and the lagoon alone are worth the trip. If your priority is to experience the most beautiful resort setting in French Polynesia, then the price feels more acceptable.

Pros & Cons
Pros:
Absolutely stunning lagoon and beach area
Modern, spacious villas
Spectacular hilltop spa
Great snorkeling for Bora Bora standards
Very good breakfast
Cons:
No view of Mount Otemanu from the villas
Service can be slow and inconsistent
Dining is good but not memorable
No private pool in most overwater villas
Prices are very high compared to value

Conclusion: A great resort, but not the best in Bora Bora
Our review of Conrad Bora Bora Nui leaves us with mixed feelings. It’s undoubtedly one of the most beautiful resorts in French Polynesia, and probably the one with the most breathtaking lagoon views. The villas are elegant, the spa is phenomenal, and the scenery is just out of this world.
But the service and dining still have room for improvement, and the prices are hard to justify when compared to resorts in the Maldives that offer a more complete luxury experience.
Still, if you’re coming to Bora Bora for the views and pure beauty, and that’s really what this destination is about, Conrad Bora Bora Nui delivers one of the most visually stunning experiences you can have in the Pacific.
