Let’s start this review of Milaidhoo Maldives with a small introduction about one of our favorite resorts.
Milaidhoo is a boutique, adults-only resort located in the heart of the UNESCO-protected Baa Atoll. What sets Milaidhoo apart is its understated luxury and deep connection to Maldivian heritage. Every experience here is personal and designed with romance in mind.
The island is small and easy to walk across, making it feel exclusive and peaceful. With only 50 villas, there is a strong focus on privacy and customized service. The resort avoids the over-the-top glamour that some bigger luxury resorts display. Instead, it offers a more quiet luxury for people who want to relax without the crowd.
Milaidhoo is a perfect escape for couples looking for quiet elegance, great food, barefoot luxury, and exceptional marine life right on their doorstep. We will go into details on all this point during this in-depth review of Milaidhoo.
During our stay at Milaidhoo, we got to experience both the overwater pool villa and the beach villa.
While our recommendation for the Maldives is usually to always go overwater, Milaidhoo may be an exception with some beach villas that are extremely nice and that’s why we wanted to try both.
All villas at Milaidhoo are exceptionally spacious and come with a private pool. The design is inspired by Maldivian heritage and uses lots of natural materials, such as wood, that blend beautifully with the island’s surroundings. High ceilings, open-plan bathrooms, and expansive outdoor decks make the space feel airy and calming.
We stayed in both the Water Pool Villa and Beach Pool Villa, and the experience was spectacular. The villa opened directly onto the lagoon, and the infinity pool faced the sunset, perfect for couples looking to enjoy a romantic dip in total privacy.
The bathroom had an oversized soaking tub facing the ocean, and the rain shower was semi-outdoor, enhancing the tropical feel.
Beach Pool Villas are tucked away within lush greenery and offer direct access to a beautiful stretch of sand. They’re ideal for those who prefer a more grounded, garden-like setting without sacrificing sea views or seclusion. Also, if you want more space, the beach villa would be our recommendation.
Let’s continue this review of Milaidhoo Maldives with the dining options.
Milaidhoo offers three restaurants and a lounge bar, each with its own atmosphere and culinary approach. The food here is one of the resort’s true highlights:
Private dining experiences such as sandbank dinners, beach picnics, or custom in-villa meals are also available and highly recommended.
As one of the best adults-only all inclusive resort in the Maldives, Milaidhoo also offers an all-inclusive package which we recommend if you plan on drinking a lot.
If you are a big fan of huge breakfast buffets, Milaidhoo will win your heart. The buffet offers a super wide variety of products and everything is super tasty. It is maybe one of the best breakfast buffets we got to experience in the Maldives overall and our review could not get any better on this point.
The island itself is a postcard-perfect tropical paradise with powdery white sand beaches, tall palm trees, and shallow turquoise lagoons. One of the key advantages of Milaidhoo is its superb house reef, which is easily accessible from both the beach and the water villas.
Snorkeling here is excellent. You’ll often spot turtles, reef sharks, and vibrant schools of fish within just a few fin kicks from the shore.
Since Milaidhoo is located in the Baa Atoll, guests also have access to Hanifaru Bay, a seasonal feeding ground for manta rays and whale sharks (typically from June to November). The resort organizes guided excursions to this marine hotspot, making it one of the best resorts in the Maldives for underwater enthusiasts.
If you are travelling to Milaidhoo between June to November, we really strongly recommend the Manta Ray excursion. It was maybe one of our best-ever underwater experience.
An other important point that we absolutely have to cover during this review of Milaidhoo Maldives is the spa.
The Serenity Spa at Milaidhoo is an overwater sanctuary offering a range of holistic and traditional therapies, including signature treatments inspired by local healing techniques. Each treatment room has glass floors that let you admire the ocean while getting your massage, creating a calming and immersive spa experience.
Yoga and meditation sessions are also offered in an open-air pavilion facing the sea.
While Milaidhoo is all about relaxation and romance, there are still plenty of optional activities if you want to add some adventure or culture to your stay:
Every experience is personalized, and the staff go above and beyond to tailor everything to your preferences.

Milaidhoo Maldives is not just a resort—it’s an intimate island sanctuary designed for romance, relaxation, and reconnection. Everything here—from the architecture to the cuisine, from the personalized service to the pristine surroundings—has been thoughtfully crafted to enhance the guest experience, especially for couples.
If you’re dreaming of a peaceful, elegant, and authentically Maldivian escape for your honeymoon or anniversary, Milaidhoo should absolutely be at the top of your list.
We highly recommend it to couples who value privacy, personalized service, beautiful natural surroundings, and a sense of understated sophistication.
